Looking at what I love and why

We were all asked to come up with a list of things we all loved then to put them in order, we also had to make it visually interesting. I opted for a mood board approach.

After this we were asked to choose our top 3, and write roughly 100 words about each topic. My top 3 choices are:

Drawing
This is by far the most important thing in the world to me, if I lost the ability to draw I would probably just jump in front of a moving car. I love drawing so much because your imagination is the limit, you can forever improve your skill. It’s so relaxing however there are times when it can be extremely stressful. I love to create my own universe, my own armies and my own characters. I also enjoy copying photographs. I just love drawing more than anything else in the world and I don’t think anything or anyone can ever change my mind about the subject.

Games
Ever since i can remember I have always enjoyed playing video games, even back when playing them may have been considered more “nerdy”. Over the past 16/17 years I have amasses quite a substantial amount of games, some good some bad. The reason I enjoy playing games is because I love to immerse myself in a completely new world, exploring all it has to offer.  I also enjoy playing games because it’s how I like to spend my time. Playing games also inspires and fuels my artwork. One thing that is becoming increasingly annoying for me however is that games and gamers have changed dramatically in the past 10 years, a good game is no longer judged for its storyline but instead for how good its graphics are or how “epic” its multiplayer competitive modes are.

Military History
Only in the past 10 years have I grown a love for this subject. I used to hate this sort of thing finding it irrelevant and boring, while it is true that history can be those thing, I find military history not to be. I like military history because the strategy of every battle, and how one tiny like supply lines, or not having the right equipment can affect an entire war. One of my favoured areas of this subject has to be World War 1, I do not however favour that period of history in such a way that implies it was a good thing. I am more amazed that such a war could go on for so long. I also prefer this period because it is at the point where warfare was changing inevitably but governments and stubborn generals were not willing to change with inevitability, so you ended up with traditional tactics with less traditional equipment.
